The Structure of our Group Classes

During our classes, we focus on movement and having fun! Designed by an Occupational Therapist, personal trainers, group fitness instructors and a Physiotherapist, each class includes a warm-up, exercises, and a cool-down with games and teamwork embedded throughout. We include lots of dancing, running, jumping, hopping, balancing, skipping, and stretching into our programs. We practice crossing the midline, improving coordination, balance and posture, developing cardiovascular fitness, building muscle and developing core strength.

At Moov360, we use visual and auditory prompting to support our members. We understand that there can be challenges in a group environment, especially with lots going on. We break instructions down, use appropriate language specifically tailored to the needs of our members, use visual demonstrations and other visuals to support with communication.

Our classes and 'Walk and Chat' groups are 1 hour in duration. Our classes are facilitated at a variety of venues around Perth metropolitan area. Moov360 has exclusive access to these venues for the duration of our class times.

Some of our other programs and activities are half or full-day events. There is more information about these programs on our 'Other Programs' page.

We use music in our classes, and we welcome members to recommend songs and support us in creating our playlists. We also have themed classes which are created by our members. We also use games, relays and friendly competitions to promote teamwork.

1.

Stage 1 - Warm Up

Our warm ups focus on warming up the different muscle groups. We focus on a variety of exercises to support members to cross their midline, practice their coordination and improve their balance. Lots of these warm up activities involve games, laughter and teamwork.

Stage 2 - Cardiovascular Fitness and Coordination

After we have warmed up, we do a variety of cardio exercises which could include but not limited to running, jumping, skipping, relays, using stairs, sleds and cardiovascular machines such as spin bikes, ski egos and rowing machines. At Moov360, we use functional movements and design creative programs to embed healthy movement.

Stage 3 - Enhancing Muscle Tone and Core Strength

Whilst cardiovascular fitness is important, so is strength and form. In our classes, we embed a variety of functional exercises to target different muscle groups. This varies from class to class and can be done through games, dancing, friendly competitions, obstacle courses and team exercises.
